4. Description Abstract In the article, the importance of emotions in the educational relationship and in learning are illustrated, referencing psychoanalysis and the most recent discoveries in neurosciences. The educational relationship becomes an emotional education, to realize what Goldman calls "emotional intelligence". From birth, children have the need to learn to recognize, manage, and modulate their own internal emotional world, in order to develop adequate levels of independence, self-esteem, and relational competencies, without being trapped in a pulsational world with little capacities for adaptation to the needs of growing-up and reality. Within the classroom group, emotional literacy can be used effectively in order to elaborate unresolved conflicts, reduce tensions, contain aggressive and challenging behavior, better the relationship between teachers and students, and foster relationships of cooperation, trust, solidarity among students. The teacher's difficult task is to transform the conflict into a learning experience: it's important to search for the problems, to reflect on the difficult situations, in order to widen the area of thinkability and to discover new points of reference. The purpose of the educational work is to allow the child in difficulty to reposess his own problems, to become aware and transform the ways to confront them; recognizing his own limits, but also his own capacities, in order to achieve more serenity and well-being.
