Abstract |
The father, in his psychodynamic function, plays an essential role from conception: in the formation of the identity of the unborn child, in sustaining the caring capacities of the mother, in the process of going beyond identification towards the child and in the child's symmetrical process of separation - individuation. The paternal function supports the achievement of a free and autonomous existence, oriented towards the future. |
