4. Description Abstract The author highlights the presence, next to the traditional educative function of the school, of its possible therapeutic function: in the scolastic context "taking care" of the suffering aspects reported by individuals, and often groups, becomes a priority. How? Through the promotion of a thought that, instead of eliminating them, is able to contain and give sense to them.  The school psychologist becomes the figure which contributes to the promotion of the "healthy parts" of the institutional mind, downscaling and integrating the destructive parts. In this perspective, an educational experience for teachers is realized "in" and "through" the group, and here described. Using the contribution of Group analysis, the atuhor proposes an education of teachers which, moving from the teachers' availability to expose themselves to a direct experience of themselves, allows them to achieve and or sharpen their relational competencies, their knowledge of dynamics which operate in the group and institutional contexts, with the flexibility necessary for sharing projects and decisions.
